When karaoke machines were first introduced by Roberto Del Rosario back in 1975, music was brought to your awaiting ears through the virtually non-existent cassette tapes. With the ever evolving technological age, karaoke has manage to move right alone with musical instruments of our present day and time.
When CD’s were introduced into the world of technology; karaoke rode piggy back right along with technology, introducing karaoke machines with CD players.
Now there are karaoke machines with VCD’s, laserdiscs and the currently popular, DVD. The karaoke machine with VCD (video compact discs) are similar to the regular CD’s except they are equipped with the ability to store images, making them perfect for karaoke because of the need to play music and the display of the sing along lyrics on screen. The karaoke VCD machine set off a chain reaction for the karaoke industry, introducing the X2000 in 1992, which was equipped with ability to fetch music through the use of a dial-up land line. This particular device repertoire consisted of music and graphics, which eventually became limited.
So the introduction of the smaller version took over and began to replace all the traditional machines. Now there are devices that have the ability to connect through the use of fiber-optic links. WOW! This allows the karaoke machine to make available immediate first-class music and a video picture that has caused its popularity to skyrocket.
The year 1997 saw the rise of “karaoke direct”; an internet division that has been going strong in the business since 1998. They introduced the first karaoke player that supports MP3+G and now the KDX2000 version that supports karaoke in DIVX Format.
We must conclude that karaoke machines are not just making funny sounds but it’s making SWEET SOUNDING MUSIC AROUND THE WORLD!
